Proofreading:
Your material has been edited, laid out and designed. You want to be ready to show your document to the world! I will search for:
- typographical errors, misspellings and other discrepancies
- consistency within format, capitalisation and punctuation
- overall appearance, font and typeface
- widows, orphans and breaks
- proper word usage
Basic copy editing
Your material has been written and the content has been edited. You want to bring the most professional, fit-for-purpose text to your audience. I will:
- provide line-by-line edits to ensure correct word usage and eliminate repetition.
- give constructive feedback on the logic and order of the document
- make suggestions for improvements for changes which might better reflect the quality and professionalism that you wish to demonstrate to your readers.
Other
TRANSCRIPTION: I am happy to be approached for transcriptions of podcasts, meetings, webinars and similar.
TRANSLATIONS: Under certain circumstances I will still accept German-English translation commissions. If you are looking for translation services do get in touch, as I have a network of native speakers of various languages who come highly recommended.
NON-NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS: I welcome approaches from non-native English speakers wishing to level-up their English document ready for publication.

I specialise in reviewing short documents of 25,000 words or less. This includes:

- manuals, procedures and instructions
- business documents
- booklets, brochures and marketing material
- research papers & theses (proofreading only, I do not currently offer checks for properly cited quotations, correct style of in-text citations, bibliographies, reference lists, or footnotes or end notes)
